Our Get On Board program helps recruit, train, and place individuals who are passionate about social justice and meet factors of diversity traditionally underrepresented on non-profit and government boards in central KY. The goal of this program is to increase representation and inclusion of diverse voices in the nonprofit sector. Applicants are selected to participate in a spring or fall cohort and receive training in inclusion, conflict resolution, legal responsibilites, fundraising, fiscal management, and more from local and regional experts. They are interested in using their voices to help advocate for the needs of you local community, and are trained in an 8 week (~40 hour) program as a part of a small group to learn the skills and strategies required for being on a non-profit board. Graduates are guided in a placement process to join the board of a non-profit organization whose cause they are passionate about. We also continue supporting them through networking alumni events. In order to ensure economic diversity, the program provides need-based scholarships to applicants who are selected.
By sponsoring this program, you are supporting the growth of a passionate social justice advocate in Lexington, and helping to increase inclusion and representation in the nonprofit sector.
