WORKSPACE

Sharing is Caring

The first idea we had when we came together was to share workspace, since so many growing orgs were working from coffee shops and basements. We now offer dedicated workspace ($275/month), drop-in workspace ($100/month), day passes ($10/day), and mailing addresses ($25/month). The mailing address includes mail acceptance (including packages). Day passes grant access between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mon-Fri. Dedicated and drop-in memberships include 24 hour access. All memberships include conference room hours, free trainings, free networking events, WiFi, and unlimited locally roasted coffee and tea. For pricing and details, visit our application or give us a call at 859-255-6999.

MEETING ROOMS

Pleasure to Meet You!

It's a lot easier to represent your organization professionally when you can host meetings in a professional space. To help with this, the Plantory has 11 meeting spaces available for members and the community to use. Dedicated workspace members get 10 hours of conference room reserved time per month, and drop-in workspace members get 5 hours per month. These hours can be applied to the garage, the Blue Grass Community Foundation Conference Room, the board room, the lounge, the loft, or the kitchen. Additionally, there are 5 pop-in rooms that are available for members only. For non-members, space is available for rates between $15 and $35 per hour. To reserve a room, simply fill out our online form and someone will get back to you within 24 hours.

EVENT SPACE

Life is a Party

We know that fundraising is hard when you have to shell out big bucks to host a party. We want our nonprofits to get more of the money people donate rather than paying it to host. To support members' fundraising, we offer affordable space for both members and the community at large to rent. We do not offer dedicated staff for event space, so this is a DIY style deal (you set up, you clean up). Whether you need room for a training or a party, check out our event spaces ranging from $15/hr to $100/hr. Member conference room hours can be applied to event reservations as well. Hosts and guests are responsible for adhering to all legal requirements and Plantory policies. To reserve space, simply fill out our online form and someone will get back to you within 24 hours.

SHARED RECEPTIONIST

Thank you for calling, how can I help you?

Paying a full-time person to keep your doors open and greet people who drop by costs growing organizations a lot of money. This can be one of the biggest hurdles to growth. To help, we offer a staffed front desk with a main phone line to greet visitors, answer basic questions, and take messages from 9-5 Monday through Friday.

EQUIPMENT

Beep Boop Beep

The Plantory's conference rooms are equipped with projectors and TVs that guests can connect to through HDMI connections. To support our growing members, we also offer free equipment check-out, including laptops, speakers, white noise machines, and more. To check something out please fill out this agreement and come to the front desk.

VOLUNTEER SUPPORT

01/19 - 01/23

Many of our organizations want to host volunteers, VISTAs, and/or interns but don't have the capacity to do so. We can help! This is provided on an individualized basis depending on staff time and availability each semester, but the Plantory is often able to support our members' support teams with supervision, recruitment/hiring, training, management, and evaluation. Contact Angela with specific needs.

DONOR MATCHING

01/19 - 01/23

We know that growing an organization is hard, and that one cause for lack of diversity in nonprofit leadership is a lack of connecting to funding sources. Why? To put it simply, if you come from higher socioeconomic status, you're more likely to know people from higher socioeconomic status, which means people from well-resourced networks are more likely to be able to develop sustainable giving programs. What if we were able to match funders with new communities? This program helps match donors with organizations who support causes they care about, to increase the diversity of funding networks in our city.

FUNDRAISING

01/19 - 01/23

The Plantory fundraises approximately $100,000 per year to provide overhead support to our organizations and keep costs affordable and predictable. This allows our members to focus their time and money on their missions.

FISCAL AGENCY

01/19 - 01/23

Sometimes it takes awhile to get an organization off the ground, even if you're already doing great work and making an impact. The Plantory helps support our members who are seeking (but don't yet have) 501c3 status by providing fiscal sponsorship for those organizations. We also offer fiscal sponsorship on grants, since we know that many small orgs don't have the resources to manage larger, more complicated grants. Applications are reviewed individually. For more info about our rates, download this doc.

PREDICTABLE COSTS

01/19 - 01/23

One of the biggest challenges in growing a business is accounting for cash flow. The Plantory makes this easy for our organizations by including all costs (except printing) including WiFi, utilities, receptionist, etc. in the monthly membership fee. This makes fundraising and budgeting easier and increases the success rate of growing organizations in our community!
